Right now I only have one lens for my camera—a wide-angle 14mm one. It's not really designed for macro shots, but I don't really give a damn. (I'm hoping to buy the proper lens soon.) On the way to and from work each day I pass a rose bush, so I tried to take a closeup shot of one of the flowers. When I tried in the morning, all my shots were coming out way overexposed and I didn't have much time to fiddle. When I tried again in the afternoon, most of the shots were a bit underexposed. But I kind of like the effect of the dark background—I just wish the white of the rose "popped" a bit more. (Although, to be fair, the roses actually did look a bit dull.)
Very nice! White flowers are by far the hardest to photograph. I can give you some tips on taking photos of flowers in full sun, although the only useful tip for white flowers in full sun is to shade them. A wide brimmed hat works. Your camera handles high contrast well though.
