Beginning September 5, 2011, I'll be taking a photo a day for an entire year, in hopes of honing my photography skills and broadening my creativity. If I'm away from home I may not be able to actually post every day, but I will definitely take a photo daily and post as soon as I can. Feedback and constructive criticism are always appreciated. Be forewarned: most of these pictures will probably be of my cats or food... that's just how I roll.

Day 213 - Sometimes Things Just Look Better in Your Mind
For the last few months, I've had this idea in my head to take a shot of someone's feet walking up a staircase. In my head, it looks amazing—the perspective is cool and the lighting is slanty with lots of fun shadows. It looks artsy and pretentious, but in an awesome way. So tonight I decided to try to make that happen, but it didn't turn out at all. First of all, I was super, super tired, so I didn't have much patience to tinker. Second, the lighting was not as I'd pictured it (or even really sufficient, for that matter). Third, I'd pictured it with a child's feet, so Brian's big man-feet didn't quite fit the bill (sorry Brian!). Oh well. Sometimes I guess things just look better in your mind's eye.

God I've had so many shots that looked way better in my head. At least you tried, and you come up with good ideas all the time.
